ISDM SOLUTIONS – AV Projects Installation Technician/ Projects Engineer
Reports to: VP of Operations
Location: East Coast USA between VA-NY
The primary purpose of the role is to support ISDM’s in house engineering capability to serve both ISDM’s Project and Support requirements being responsible for installation and commissioning of bespoke AV projects across ISDM US and Global customer base. Willingness to travel globally is an essential element of this role as well as a full clean driving license. This role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years’ experience working in the Audio Visual industry.
The individual will be an ISDM advocate and will ensure that the ISDM brand of Quality and Customer Commitment is evidenced through their behaviours and the service they deliver.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Full commissioning of AV systems with AMX/Crestron/BiAmp/Extron technology
- Conduct strong level of troubleshooting of all AV systems
- Conduct terminations in accordance with system diagrams
- Maintain a customer-driven focus while on site; dealing with a variety of queries. Must be always ready to help, and seek a resolution to any and all customer issues, following up with relevant internal teams if answer is not immediately known.
- Be able to operate professionally at customer sites. Candidates must be confident enough to work under pressure whilst being diplomatic/customer focused enough to represent ISDM when in front of customers and stakeholders
- Demonstrate absolute commitment to quality in every aspect of this role
- Ability to oversee/manage external engineers ensuring project is completed to ISDM’s quality standards
- Conduct Quality Assurance checks for every installation carried out and ensuring any actions are completed
- Be intolerant of sub quality products or solutions and apply this behaviour to ensure continuous improvement in ISDMs delivery
- Regular communication with the Project and Technical Operations team in relation to service related incidents and project work.
- Attend all required meetings with the Project Managers and Service Desk Manager as required
- Communication of all escalations and queries to the Project Managers
- Contribute to the business and team growth, providing continuous improvement ideas and suggestions.
- Deliver consistent, professional service to all relevant stakeholders and customers
- Representation of the ISDM brand by adherence to the operating principles
- Ensure all deliverables and agreed actions are delivered on time to the relevant stakeholders to the ISDM standard
- Collate any relevant customer feedback in a professional manner and provide to the Service Manager, Ops Director or Leadership team as required
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to read, understand and follow build plans and schematics
- Ability to conduct and adhere to risk assessments and method statements
- Health and Safety Certified (OSHA)
- Ability to conduct technical troubleshooting
- Rack building/pre-wire
- Build custom structure, framework and bracketry to hang AV equipment consistent with industry safety standards
- Installation of LED Screens, Video Walls and Flat Panel Displays, Projectors
- Installation of AV control systems
- Installation VC/UC systems into meeting room environments (Zoom, Polycom, Cisco)
- Structured cabling including pulling, terminating, soldering and testing all cable and wiring associated with audio/video cables
- Experience of QA of installs.
- Install audio equipment including speakers, amps, mixers, microphones
- Experience of Bespoke/Split room installation & commissioning
- Demonstratable interest or entry level qualification in engineering/electrical work
